3 Actionable Ways to Maximise Success

3 Actionable Ways to Maximise Success

Within the fast-paced society we live in today, opportunities, jobs, and new creations appear regularly. Due to this, it’s not uncommon to find yourself wanting to exceed your skills. If you’re an executive living in Asia, you’ve already achieved some level of success. But you can always do more, and many like-minded people think the same.

Whether you’re an experienced executive or someone wanting career advice to reach this level of expertise, you need to become familiar with the below. Here we describe three actionable ways to increase your chances of landing exceptional job opportunities in Asia.

1. Change your perspective

It doesn’t matter if you’re job seeking for an executive role or looking to go beyond it; perspective is everything. Undoubtedly during your journey, you’ll have doubts, worries, and challenging situations, but it isn’t something that should throw your ambitions out the window. Instead, flip this difficult time into something positive and continue to progress with your career.

The best way to allow yourself to change perspective is to have reflection time. Have some time to think about the situation, solutions, your past, and your future. You’ll quickly discover the complicated state your currently experiencing isn’t bad after all.

2. Learn to say “No”

If you want to maximise the chances of getting the best jobs or salaries in Asia for executives, you’ll need to practice saying “no”. It sounds ridiculous, and I’m aware. However, saying “yes” to everything in life takes your eyes away from the price. Saying “yes” is such a big time-waster that INC placed it as the seventh biggest time-waster that kills productivity.

However, don’t ever forget to say “yes” to the right opportunities. You’ll need a healthy mix between the two, but you need to learn what to say “yes” and what to say “no” to. Without a doubt, this takes time and practice. But, if you acquire the judgement skills of when to say one another, you’ll increase your success rate and lower your stress.

3. Be specific

Additionally to the above, you need to be specific with your goals. Saying you want a career change is excellent, but how are you going to achieve it? Instead of having the goal of “I’m going to join this company by XX year”, have specific daily, weekly, or monthly goals you need to complete to join that company.

For instance, to join a specific company, you may need to learn the basics of another language. If this is your dream company to work for, your daily goal will be an hour of deep learning for that language and so forth.

A study was conducted about goal setting, and through this 2011 meta-analysis, they discovered that specific short-term goal setting is much more advantageous than anything long-term. Therefore, to increase the possibility of landing an exceptional job opportunity in Asia, be more specific with your goals.

So, what are you waiting for? Start actioning the above, so they become a part of your natural lifestyle. By doing this, you’ll achieve success much faster, and it’ll become something of the norm.
